Feminist Leadership, Movement Building and Rights Institute - Hindi

Organised by CREA, New Delhi, the Feminist Leadership, Movement Building and Rights Institute (FLMBaRI) is a five-day long, residential Institute, conducted in Hindi.
The sixth in this series, FLMBaRI-Hindi is designed to strengthen feminist leadership, advocacy, and strategies for building collective power for social transformation. It has been designed for women who work in senior or middle-level positions of leadership in non-government organisations (NGOs) as well as independent activists.
FLMBaRI-Hindi will enable the participants to identify different intersections, interactions, common spaces and challenges that social movements encounter when collaborating on issues of women's human rights. The key topics to be covered in the Institute are:
- Feminist Leadership
- Violence against Women
- Caste and Gender
- Gender and Nation
- Religion and Fundamentalism
- Sex Workers : Rights , Issues and Movement
- Women's Movement
Activists and academics will teach the course using classroom instruction, group work, case studies, simulation exercises and films.

Participants and Selection Criteria
All women including those identifying as women working in non-government organisations or as activists on women's issues in India can apply for this training. Thirty participants will be selected based on their applications. The selected participants will require to stay at the training venue for the entire duration of the training. The participants must:
Have a minimum of 2 years experience working on gender issues, women's rights, development and/or youth activism or
- Be from women's rights or women-led organisations or
- Be working with or be from women-led groups working on disability, lesbian, trans*, sex worker rights
Cost of Participation
There is no course fee. CREA will make arrangements for accommodation and meals during the duration of the Institute. For stays – participants will be given rooms on Twin-sharing basis. Return tickets (only 2nd AC train tickets) will be reimbursed by CREA.
Venue and Dates
September 23 - 27, 2019, New Delhi.
The applications are due on or before July 30 , 2019. Applications received after the last date will not be considered. Confirmation will be sent to ONLY selected candidates between 19 – 21 August, 2019.
Note: The process of selection will begin with the application of participants. You are requested to send the filled-in application form as early as possible.
