The Institute for Rights, Activism, and Development (South Asia)
The Institute for Rights, Activism, and Development (South Asia) was an annual five-day residential training programme, designed by CREA for women working in mid-level leadership positions within non-governmental organisations (NGOs) in South Asia. It helped build the conceptual clarity of participants on gender, feminism, and movement building, and how these issues link to human rights in the South Asian context. The Institute was conducted for five years from 2004 to 2008, before it was further developed to form the basis of CREA’s current South Asian Movement Building and Human Rights Institute.
