CSW: Introducing the Growing Global Coalition for Feminist Foreign Policy

March 16 @ 10:00 am - 11:30 am

As CSW65 convenes to consider the impact of women’s leadership, feminists inside and outside of government are coming together at the United Nations as a growing, global network of partners committed to advancing the objectives of Feminist Foreign Policies (FFP) — one policy innovation that has emerged as a tool to advance outcomes under all 12 areas of Beijing Platform of Action.

This event is an opportunity to publicly present our framework for a feminist foreign policy; identify the main opportunities and challenges in implementing such an approach; and define how countries can advance a FFP regardless of size.

Speakers include:

• Undersecretary Martha Delgado Peralta, Multilateral Affairs and Human Rights, Secretariat of Foreign Affairs of Mexico
• Ambassador Ann Bernes, Kingdom of Sweden
• Assistant Deputy Minister Elissa Golberg, Strategic Policy, Global Affairs Canada
• Ambassador Delphine O, Secretary General, Generation Equality Forum, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, France
• Lyric Thompson, Senior Director, Policy and Advocacy, International Center for Research on Women
• Bridget Burns, Director, Women’s Environment & Development Organization
• Geeta Misra, Executive Director, CREA (Creating Resources for Empowerment and Action)
• Memory Kachambwa, Executive Director, FEMNET (The African Women’s Development and Communications Network)
• Ambassador Clara Cabrera Brasero, Special Mission for Gender Equality in Foreign Policy (Spain)
