The Storytelling Initiative provides creative feminist storytellers the opportunity to narrate stories of resilience, of the power of collective action to effect social justice, of the hope and hard work that can lead to change. The storytellers attempt to present a nuanced understanding of the issues faced by structurally excluded groups and document aspects often missed in the mainstream.

We are thrilled to present the project outcomes of our inaugural edition of the Storytelling Initiative. After receiving an overwhelming response from applicants all over the country, five storytellers were selected to share their stories with the world. These thought-provoking pieces – varied in form, tone, subject and length – are a labour of love and we are delighted to have been a part of this process.
